Purpose: Urinary analgesic
- Use
- AZO STANDARD® provides fast relief from urinary pain, burning, urgency and frequency associated with urinary tract infections.
- Warnings
- Ask a doctor before use if you have:
- Kidney disease.
- Allergies to foods, preservatives or dyes.
- Had a hypersensitive reaction to Phenazopyridine.
- When using this product:

- Stomach upset may occur, taking this product with or after meals may reduce stomach upset.
- Your urine will become reddish-orange in color. This is not harmful, but care should be taken to avoid staining clothing or other items.
- Stop use and ask a doctor if:

- Your symptoms last for more than 2 days.
- You suspect you are having an adverse reaction to the medication.
If you are pregnant or breast feeding, ask a health professional before use.
Keep out of reach of children. In case of an overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Adults and children over 12 years:
- Take 2 tablets 3 times daily with or after meals as needed.
- Take with a full glass of water.
- Do not use for more than 2 days (12 tablets) without consulting a doctor.
Children under 12 years:
- Do not use without consulting a doctor.

- This product can interfere with laboratory tests including urine, glucose (sugar), and ketones tests.
- This product may stain soft contact lenses and other items if handled after touching tablets.
- Store at room temperature (59° - 86° F) in a dry place and protect from light.
- Tamper evident: tablets sealed in cellophane or blister foil. Do not use if cellophane or blister foil is open or damaged.

- The recommended dosage is two (2) tablets three times a day. Do not use for more than 2 days (12 tablets) without consulting a doctor.

- Yes, AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength will effectively treat UTI symptoms in both men and women.
- Can I take AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
- Please consult your healthcare professional before taking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. There have not been any studies done to determine if Phenazopyridine hydrochloride passes to the baby or through breast milk.

- We cannot recommend taking AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength for more than two days. There have been no long-term usage studies done on this product. As always, be sure to discuss your needs with your healthcare professional.
- How long does AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength stay in the body?
- AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength will stay in your system for 24-48 hours. The exact amount of time will vary for each individual. It is reasonable to think that once the urine has returned to its normal color than the body has passed it.
- Will AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength interfere with drug tests?
- AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength may interfere with the reading of any colorimetric urine analysis, as the dye will color the test pads and may make them difficult to read.
- Can I take only half a tablet?
- No, the tablets are not scored and should be taken whole. Cutting the tablet will break the thin protective coating and may cause staining on the skin and any other surface they come in contact with.
- Can I chew the AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength tablets?
- No, chewing the tablets will cause the teeth and mouth to become stained by the Phenazopyridine, an organic dye. The tablets are to be taken whole, not cut, chewed or crushed.
- How can AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength stain my contact lenses?
- This warning is for the handling of the tablets and then handling contact lenses. If the tablets are handled long enough to dissolve the thin coating on the tablets, then the dye can transfer from your fingers to contact lenses. This situation is true with any objects you may come in contact with after handling the AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength tablets.
- What kind of food allergies does the package refer to?
- Phenazopyridine Hydrochloride is an organic dye. If you are sensitive to dyes in foods then you may be sensitive to AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength. We recommend you consult your healthcare professional before taking.
- Can I give AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength to a child?
- AZO STANDARD® and AZO STANDARD® Maximum Strength are not recommended for children under the age of 12, unless specifically recommended by a healthcare professional.
